FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrode to be used in electrochemical capacitor. Proposed electrode represents a polarisable electrode consisting of activated carbon material with, in fact, zero content of ash and low percentage of transition metals. In producing double electric layer capacitor (DEL-capacitor), polarisable electrode consisting of the mix of lead dioxide/lead sulphate is preferably used. DEL-capacitor can also incorporate acid-based electrolyte, for example aqueous sulphuric electrolyte. Electrode comprises current collector containing, preferably, basic metal consisting of lead or compound thereof and electrolyte-resistant protective coat material based on acid. Preferably, protective coat material is made from polymer base and conductive additive that can be applied on collector basic material by various methods.
EFFECT: improved power storage capacity.
