SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering and can be used particularly in selective hydrogenation of butadiene with formation of linear butanes. In the reactor at least one gaseous primary product and at least one liquid primary product react in parallel streams on a fixed-bed catalyst to form one or more products. The ratio of the length of the reaction zone to its diametre - elongation rating - in the reactor is less than 3. The reactor has at least one zone where the catalyst is in form of a fixed bed and a zone where the liquid and gaseous primary products enter the reactor. These zones are separated by a distributor plate. On at least one side in the openings of the distributor plate there are static mixers. After coming out of the static mixers, Sauter mean diametre of gas bubbles dispersed in the liquid is less than 5 mm.

EFFECT: good distribution of primary products independent of complexity of the reaction and selected mode.
