FIELD: physics; control.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automatic control and can be used in systems with an excess number of sensors, for example angular position sensors, failure of one of which should not lead to failure of the control system. The method of determining a failed sensor in an excess system is based on periodic checking the connection ratio of measured parametres of movement characterising proper functioning of the sensors, noting the moment of violation of the connection ratio, setting motion from this moment, where the output signal of any three sensors selected for control is set less than a certain given small value Δ, taking down readings of the control sensor, turning the measurement system by a given angle about an axis which is not parallel and not orthogonal to any of the measuring axes, and repeated recording of the output signal (aif)H of the control sensor I, recording changes in readings of the control sensor and determining the failed sensor from the results of changes in readings.
EFFECT: wider functional capabilities.
