SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines. ICE machine, particularly its diesel version (1) comprises one cylinder (20), turbine (3), compressor (4), air compressor (11), first and second accumulators (10, 14), supercharging air cooler (5) in supercharging air pipeline (6), air drier (13), feed gate valve (15) and control device (16). Proposed method to increase torque of aforesaid machine differs from known procedures in the steps that follow, i.e. compressing air from supercharging air pipeline (6) or from whatever second air intake (31) by air compressor (11), and accumulating compressed air in accumulator (10, 14). It comprises also injecting air (25), intended for injection and accumulated in compressed state in accumulator (10, 14), into cylinder (20) via its inlet valve (21) to up the torque of engine (1). Invention covers also the device to implement abode described method.
EFFECT: increased power output.
