FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method for engine (10) comprises routing air from compressor (162) through heat exchanger (166) to combustion chamber (30) of the engine. Heat exchanger (166) includes a reservoir to collect condensate. Condensate accumulated in the reservoir is fed through a duct connected to combustion chamber (30). Portion of the compressed air is accumulated an accumulator. When the output power of engine (10) is less than a predetermined value, a portion of the accumulated air is routed through the duct to combustion chamber (30). Accumulated air is routed through the duct only if there is condensate and the engine output power is below a predetermined value. Versions of the method for the engine and the system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in preventing uneven engine operation and preventing undesirable cooling of the catalytic converter.
