FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method is characterised by application of contactless current sensor in the form of opened magnetic conductor with magnetic sensitive element, which is arranged in magnetic conductor gap. Current sensor signal is sent to analog-digital transducer. Minimum frequency of digitisation FD in process of brush current measurement makes

where fr is frequency of synchronous generator rotor rotation, Dc is diametre of contact ring, a is size of brush in direction of contact ring rotation (along tangent). Brush current values measured with frequency of digitisation are summed for a period of time, which is even to one rotation of generator rotor shaft. Obtained sum is divided into overall number of measurements. Then difference is found between produced average value of current and value of each measurement. Absolute difference values are summed up, and produced sum is divided into number of measurements to obtain value of average deviation.

EFFECT: provision of possibility to measure value of brushes current and average deviation, which characterises stability of current in sliding contact of brush.
