FIELD: electrical engineering; measurement of electrical machines characteristics serviceability check of brush gear. SUBSTANCE: method involves recording voltage drop across check points of current-carrying bus circuits through pairs of measuring conductors. Voltage drop is recorded sequentially in closed cycle for each electric circuit of current-carrying bus first at check point between starting lead of current-carrying bus and first set of brushes, then at check point between last set of brushes and finishing lead of each current-carrying bus, and after each above- described recording cycle calculations are made of currents consumed by sets of brushes from current-carrying brushes. EFFECT: enhanced measurement accuracy, facilitated procedure, enhanced speed. 6 cl, 4 dwg
