FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used as slip rings for synchronous generator contact brush assemblies. The proposed slip ring is made from a steel forged piece with a threaded groove on its outer surface. Note that the said groove outer side section features a smaller width than that on its inner side. Note also that the said groove receives current carrying segments with their outer radius exceeding that of the slip ring by at least 1 mm, and the inner radius not less than the groove inner radius. Note here that the segment crosswise section, at the section of contact with the steel slip ring, matches the groove section. The aforesaid segments are made from copper or partially, or completely from graphite. The groove section can be T-shaped. The surface of contact with the inserted segments can be partially tapered.
EFFECT: higher strength, safe fastening on rotor by shrinkage fit, reliable sliding contact with graphite brushes, ease of replacement.
