FIELD: physics; navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to navigation and can be used in targeting systems and correcting inertial navigation systems of aircraft. The method involves recording images of the earth's surface using two optical-location units, program processing digital images taken from photomatrices in the first and second time instants in order to determine coordinates of images of three identical and flickering points, calculation of coordinates of the three identical and flickering points in the first time instant in a coordinate system associated with the aircraft, calculation of coordinates of the flickering point in the first time instant in a coordinate system associated with the earth, calculation of coordinates of the three identical points in the second time instant in a coordinate system associated with the aircraft, calculation of coordinates of the flickering point in the second time instant in a coordinate system associated with the aircraft. The device which realises the method has two spaced apart optical-location units and a digital computer made in a defined way.
EFFECT: more accurate measurement.
