FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: primary billet is subject to successive by cycles deformation treatment and following multi-run mechanical treatment at rolling mill. Each cycle of deformation treatment consists in placing a billet in the cavity of the device, in deforming, in extracting from the said cavity and in re-arrangement for a successive cycle by means of turning at 90°. The cavity has crossing upper vertical and lower horizontal parts. Deforming is performed by means of compressing the billet by height in the parts of the cavity facilitating plastic flowing of billet material in two opposite directions. Also deformation of the billet is limited with walls of the lower horizontal part of the cavity. The said part has rounded on top side ends and two backups of a wedge shape arranged on top. Areas of input cross sections of the lower horizontal part of the cavity are at 3-20 % less, than areas of cross sections of the upper vertical part.
EFFECT: production of billets with uniform structure in whole volume.
