PLANT FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING AND EXTRUSION OF METAL Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, integrated process of continuous casting and extrusion of nonferrous metals. SUBSTANCE: plant has furnace-mixer 1, cooling unit 2, reel 3, two rolls forming working gauge. Roll 4 has groove and roll 5 has protrusion. Die 6 is set across output from gauge, mould 7 of rotor type is positioned in front of rolls. Its diameter relates to diameter of bottom of groove as 0.2-0.4 and relationship of height of gauge and height of groove is kept within limits 0.5-0.9. Die may have one or several wedge cavities coming to working surface and oriented in parallel to axis of passage of die and is cooled. EFFECT: increased productivity, reduced energy consumption, enhanced stability and reliability of process, prevention of losses of metal thanks to stabilization of temperature-rate mode of deformation. 1 cl, 3 dwg
