SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creating and linking graphs in an application program. The method involves receiving a data model which gives a data set and relationship between data subject to presentation on the graph, receiving definition of a graph which describes display of data from the data model into a set of algorithms, algorithm parametres, limitations and form properties, assignment of size and position of linkage centres, using this set of algorithms, limitations of rules of limitations from graph definition, and compilation of a list of forms and form properties of for the graph, including size and position. The method also involves determination of whether the graph inscribes the given linkage into a specific region based on the set of limitation values and, if the graph is not inscribed into the specific region, then the set of limitation values is changed using limitation rules.
EFFECT: easier compilation of graphical content.
