FIELD: physics, cinematography.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for interlayer forecasting when coding/decoding a video signal. The result is achieved due to that the method provides construction of pairs of frame macroblocks from one field macroblock or two vertically adjacent field macroblocks of a base layer and use of texture information of the constructed pair of frame macroblocks in the interlayer forecasting of the texture of pairs of frame macroblocks of the current layer.
EFFECT: design of an interpolation method which takes into account video signal layer scanning modes.
