FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface hardening with producing regular micro relief and shaped lubricant retaining pockets. Processed surface is subjected to continuous vibration rolling with the help of first tool with spherical working profile. Said first tool is provided with additional sine oscillatory motion with amplitude and spacing allowing part surface deformation to the depth of oil retaining pockets. Then, second tool is used to harden surface enveloping said oil retaining pockets either power or electromechanical effects. Note here that white layer fragments are formed that make geometrically regular grid of hardened tracks and structure of directed regular micro relief of surface layer.
EFFECT: higher quality and wear resistance.
