FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: inventions can be implemented for cutting elements at production of parts of machines and instruments. Powders of diamond and/or cubic boron nitride of different firmness are put into a mould alternating layers of higher and lower firmness. Further there is performed stage-by stage compaction of powders upon placing each layer of powders of lower firmness at pressure Σfirm.>P>Σl.firm., where P is pressure value at compaction, Σfirm. - higher firmness of powders, Σl.firm. lower firmness of powders. Powders of higher firmness are taken for each layer at amount facilitating forming layer into one grain, while volume contents of powders of lower firmness for each layer is chosen from condition 0.8-1.0 of volume of space formed by compacted powders of higher firmness. Upon compaction powders are soaked with binding material.

EFFECT: procedure facilitates production of material of only two graininess with their high contents out of diamond and cubic nitride powders eliminating usage of micro-powders; it also facilitates production of material of big height with uniform distribution of powder grains in whole volume.
