FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to obtaining of composite materials containing powders of ultra-hard materials, and namely powders of diamond and/or cubic boron nitride (CBN) in the quantity of up to 92 vol. % and fixed to each other by means of a metallic binding agent. Powders of diamond and/or cubic boron nitride of elongated or plate-like shape of the same grain fineness are placed in the mould, compacted and soaked with metals or alloys.
EFFECT: method allows reducing the labour intensity for production of the material characterised with uniform distribution of powders of diamond or cubic boron nitride in the volume and reducing its prime cost.
