where du is diametre of upper spiral turn, m; Di is diametre of lower spiral turn, m; a is maximum size of cross section in direction perpendicular to axis of spiral rotation, m; V is voltage, kV. Damping of wire oscillations is provided by rigidity of spiral, which is determined by the following ratio: where K is rigidity of spiral, N/cm; T is wire stress at average annual temperature for designed span of power transmission line, N; m is linear density of power transmission line wire material, kg/m; d is wire diametre, mm; p is volume density of spiral material, kg/m3; ℓ is length of spiral axis, m; s is area of spiral cross section, cm2.
EFFECT: increasing reliability and efficiency of power transmission lines.
