SUBSTANCE: proposed support insulator has load-bearing insulating body, tracking-resistant sheath with ribs 2, and metal flange 1 mounted on both ends of insulator. Load-bearing body is made in the form of insulating tube 3 of epoxy binder reinforced by high-strength glass threads; inner space of tube accommodates metal stick 5 occupying minimum one third of its space, remaining space being filled with insulating material 4.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical and electric flexural and torsional strength at minimal size and mass of insulator.
