FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a composition for effective inhibition of sulphide production with using sulphate-reducing bacteria (SRB), and said composition contains a combination: (a) of a biocide component capable to destroy directly the first portion of SRB where said biocide component is found in the combination in the first concentration which is less than approximately 90% of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the biocide component; and (b) a metabolic inhibitor component capable to inhibit the growth of the second portion of SRB without direct destruction thereof where said metabolic inhibitor component is found in the combination in the second concentration which is less than approximately 90% of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the metabolic inhibitor component where the combination shows synergetic effect in inhibiting production of SRB sulphide in comparison with each component taken separately.

EFFECT: effective inhibition of biogene sulphide in considerably smaller concentration, than that required if biocide or metabolic inhibitor used separately.
