FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to heat insulation of pipes, namely to methods for formation of external heat insulation cover of foaming materials, such as polyurethane foam, on pipes intended for transportation of coolant or freezing liquids. In method of heat insulation of pipe for air, ground and underground installation, previously arranged sections of thin-sheet rolled metal shells are installed concentrically versus insulated pipe, which simultaneously perform functions of heat insulation shape and protective coat, annular cavity between pipe and shell is filled via longitudinal joint of open shell with polyurethane of poured grades, longitudinal joint of shell is closed with overlapping of edges, and heat insulation material is tempered for some time for structuring.

EFFECT: possibility to install heat insulation in the field.
