FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and medical equipment. Prior to and during mental work, paired light pulse train of duration 200 ms separated by pulse separation 70 ms and repeated every 1 s of regular time interval is presented to a person being tested. The successive approximation method is used to determine duration of threshold pulse separation whereat two pulses in a pair are fused in one. The level of mental fatigue is calculated by formula: LMFi=(TPSi-TPS0)100%/TPSi; i=1, 2,… n, where LMFi is the level of mental fatigue in i-the measurement; TPSi is duration of the threshold pulse separation in i-the measurement; TPS0 is duration of the threshold pulse separation prior to the beginning of mental work; n is a number of measurements of the threshold pulse separation during mental work.

EFFECT: method extends the range of products for determination of the level of mental fatigue.
