FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and medical equipment and aims at determination of the level of visual fatigue. A person being tested is exposed to a fatigue factor. Before the exposure and periodically during the exposure, paired light pulse train of duration 200 ms, separated by pulse separation 70 ms, repeated every 1 s of regular time interval is presented to the person being tested. The successive approximation method is used to determine duration of threshold pulse separation whereat two pulses in a pair are fused in one. The level of visual fatigue (LVF) is calculated by formula: LVFi=(TPSi-TPS0)100%/TPSi; i=1,2,…,n; where TPS0 is duration of the threshold pulse separation before the exposure to the fatigue factor; TPSi is duration of the i-th threshold pulse separation during the exposure to the fatigue factor; n is a number of measurements of the threshold pulse separation during the exposure to the fatigue factor.
EFFECT: method allows for higher accuracy of determination of the level of visual fatigue.
