FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: tested instrument is installed in chamber filled with water solution; also chamber is equipped with automatically controlled transport system. A mode facilitating required activation background of slow neutrons/induced gamma-radiation in the chamber with the tested instrument is set by means of control over frequency of start-up of irradiator of fast neutrons. The tested instrument is transferred relative to a target of the generator of fast neutrons/induced gamma radiation. Dependence of amount of pulses in a controlled channel of the tested instrument on distance between the tested instrument and the target of the irradiator of fast neutrons/induced gamma-radiation is recorded. Further, parametres of induced gamma activity registered with the tested equipment are transmitted by means of a telemetric block via a communication line to a computer where they are compared with the preset mode. The installation for testing instruments of radio-active logging consists of the chamber filled with water solution able to retard and absorb neutrons, of the automatic controlled transport system for arranging the tested instrument in it and of the device for control over test mode.

EFFECT: testing radio-active logging instruments in field conditions without implementation of ampoule sources of neutron radiation and gamma radiation and increased efficiency of operations for testing said type of instruments.
