FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: value of colour sensitivity of each of photoreceptor types is determined separately by means of charts of colour optotypes of blue, green and red colour. Each chart represents matrix, in which geometric parametres of optotypes, located in vertical columns decrease from top to bottom in accordance with international standards. Optotypes with equal dimensions are placed in chart in horizontal lines. Tone of colouring of optotypes in each line decreases from left to right. As optotypes, Landolt rings are used. Colour sensitivity of each type of photoreceptors for each eye is evaluated separately by chart of corresponding colour. First, by chart of one of the colours, it is determined if patient perceives colour of demonstrated optotypes correctly and, if patient makes a mistake, conclusion about loss of colour sensitivity of corresponding type of photoreceptors is made. In case of correct determination of colour of demonstrated optotypes by left column of chart, value of visual acuity is determined for said colour of optotypes, after that by horizontal line, corresponding to obtained visual acuity, by movement of eye from left to right, determined is value of colour sensitivity of said type of photoreceptors by optotypes in that column further which patient cannot correctly recognise demonstrated optotypes.

EFFECT: method allows to evaluate quantitatively colour sensitivity of separately taken each type of photoreceptors of eye retina, spending less time for the procedure.
