FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely ophthalmology and aims at ensuring higher accuracy of analysing visual acuity. Evaluating visual acuity involves presentation of optotypes on a white background with lowering illuminance 400 to 50 lux. Then optotypes are successively arranged on a yellow, red, green, dark blue background. Then increase of function 5 is calculated. It represents a difference of values when optotypes are presented on a white background and the obtained data on a yellow, red, green and dark blue background.
EFFECT: invention allows detecting and evaluating decrement in visual acuity with lowering of test illuminance, can be used in periodic health examinations to detect persons with low vision with changing the light conditions, prediction of various emergencies.
