FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: first device represents an electrode comprising a conductive terminal and a conductive sheet made of a nonmetal material. The conductive sheet is attached to the terminal and has smaller specific resistance, than that of the terminal. The second device represents an iontophoresis apparatus comprising a power supply, an active electrode structure and an inactive electrode structure. At least one active electrode structure and inactive electrode structure includes an electrode. The electrode contains the conductive terminal and the conductive sheet made of the nonmetal material. The conductive sheet is attached to the terminal and has smaller specific resistance than that of the terminal. The third device represents the iontophoresis apparatus comprising the power supply, the active electrode structure and the inactive electrode structure. The active electrode structure comprises a first electrode connected to a first polarity terminal of the power supply. From the front side of the first electrode there is a first layer with a conductive medium. From the front side of the first layer with the conductive medium, there is a first ion-exchanger membrane designed for selecting the second polarity ions and is opposite to the first polarity. From the front side of the first ion-exchanger membrane, there is a drug layer to keep the drug solution. The drug layer contains the drug dissociated on the first polarity ions. From the front side of the drug layer there is the second ion-exchanger membrane for selecting the first polarity ions. The inactive electrode structure includes the second electrode connected to the second polarity terminal of the power supply. From the front side of the second electrode there is the second layer with the conductive medium. At least one electrode of the first electrode and the second electrode contains the conductive terminal and the conductive sheet made of the nonmetal material. The conductive sheet is attached to the terminal and has smaller specific resistance than that of the terminal.
EFFECT: eliminated metal ion transfer into a living body during current passage.
