FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of electric engineering, in particular, to gas-diffusion electrodes for application in fuel elements and other electrochemical fields of application, produced by means of direct metallisation of gas-diffusion medium with platinum of low specific mass, and also to membrane-electrode assembly that includes such electrodes. Method for formation of noble metal coating includes exposure of electroconductive curtain with gas-diffusion medium that does not substantially contain ionomer components to the first ion beam with energy of not more than 500 eV and the second beam with energy of at least 500 eV.
EFFECT: production of gas-diffusion electrode and membrane-electrode assembly with high operational characteristics by metallisation of gas-diffusion medium free of ionomer components with noble metals.
