FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: device includes drive drum with the segments installed with possibility of being moved in radial direction by means of drive elements. Drum is kinematically connected to the roll clamping hydraulic cylinder. Drive of the mechanism intended for moving drum segments of uncoiler includes motor of rotation transmission to spindle assembly located in drum body and kinematically connected to transfer mechanism of segments movement. Shaft of the body is rigidly connected to the drum face plate and provided with a cavity to arrange spindle assembly and transfer mechanism. Motor is made in the form of combined pump-turbine unit connected by means of a clutch to support shaft of spindle assembly mounted on rolling bearings, and to intermediate shaft. Cantilevers of intermediate of spindle assembly are connected to support shaft and transfer mechanism by gear clutches and equipped with restricting washers located with a gap relative to the housing boring. External surfaces of washers are spherical.

EFFECT: enlarging process capabilities owing to wide variation range of drum diametre, which is required when supplying to the rolling mill line the rolls produced on convolution machines and differing by not very high quality.
