FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to solar power engineering. The device contains the following: an illumination device comprising an optical system and a flash lamp; a control photocell, an electronic measuring device comprising a current and voltage measuring unit, a saw-tooth voltage generator and an information collection and processing device; a device for powering the flash lamp which has a controlled dc voltage source, a flash lamp ignition unit and a voltage pulse former. The saw-tooth voltage generator has a first, a second and a third capacitor; a first, a second, a third and a fourth resistor. Capacitance of the third capacitor is defined by the equation: C3=(10-20)·I·N·τ/U, and capacitance of the first and second capacitors is 5-10 times larger than capacitance of the third capacitor. The voltage pulse former has a charging resistor, an RC circuit and an LC circuit.
EFFECT: design of solar simulators based on pulsed gas discharge lamps for measuring current-voltage characteristics of light and other photoelectric parametres of solar cells and concentrating photovoltaic modules.
