SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless data transmission networks. The multimedia messaging system contains the following: a terminal, a multimedia messaging service centre (MMSC), which receives, stores and sends multimedia messages; and a multimedia messaging service gateway (MMSG) connected to at least one MMSC and to a terminal belonging to that MMSC, which serves to identify the said terminal, user, contained in the multimedia message, and the rendered service, and serves for sending multimedia messages from the terminal or from the MMSC.
EFFECT: reduced load on the multimedia messaging service centre.
