FIELD: physics, communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a handover method and particularly to a handover method for a dual transfer mode (DTM) in a wireless mobile communication system. The technical outcome is achieved due to that a handover method for DTM using a mobile station (MS) in a wireless mobile communication system is proposed. The mobile station receives neighbouring cell information, where the information is a list of neighbouring cells at whose signal levels the MS is supposed to measure, and sends a message containing the measurement results in neighbouring cells. Also the MS receives a message from the network, where the message contains handover instructions for DTM, which instructs the MS to carry out the procedure for handover for DTM with respect to one of the neighbouring cells and the MS carries out the procedure for handover for DTM.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability of handover in a wireless mobile communication system.
