FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises multi-pass reduction of heated billet in rolls with passes. Proposed invention uses round-section billet, while required profile is shaped in open-type passes with preset increased profile width. Note here that final formation of the profile in made in edging pass by forging in cold state. System of passes comprises hot rolling mill passes arranged consecutively, namely shaping, intermediate, leader and finishing passes. Shaping pass has one cutting lower edge, leader pass is vertical while finishing pass has ledges with reduced radii of roundness. Also system of passes comprises additionally a horizontal edging pass of cold rolling mill with all passes made open.

EFFECT: improved quality of rolled trough-like sections, primarily of railroad two-head strips.
