FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rolling and is intended for production of asymmetrical rail profiles, mainly tongue-type rails, characterized by wide difference in length of flanges of the sole from different sides of the profile. Method involves multipass swaging of a workpiece. Result is provided by using as roughing trapezoidal an axial and edging passes with initial formation of flanges of sole, as well as inclined type rail fuller with different length of flanges, where in trapezoidal edging pass formation of sole is performed with different length of flanges, value of length ratio of which is defined as 1.3÷1.7 of the ratio of lengths of corresponding flanges in rail fuller with connectors on the side of short flange of sole and profile head.
EFFECT: increasing smoothness of rolling in inclined type rail fuller, improving quality of rolled section due to accurate design of its geometry, increasing performance of mill and reduction of surface defects on finished rail.
