SUBSTANCE: invention aims at reducing temperature losses in removing scale and increasing efficiency of cleaning thin slab and rolled strip at hot rolling mills. Proposed method comprises feeding gas onto surface being cleaned. Gas represents compound of cryogenic substances with carrier medium, particularly compressed air, that are sprayed in low-temperature state and fluid form onto strip or slab surface. Proposed device comprises necessary appropriate equipment for above describe method to be implemented.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of reagents and power consumption, higher quality of cleaning.
