FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly to tool designed to form variable-section products. Proposed tool comprises container with sleeve, plug stopping said sleeve on one side and die holder fitted in said sleeve on the other side, build-up die made up of two pairs of opposed elements, one pair being secured on die while the other one has its elements shaped and secured inside the sleeve. First pair elements have inner and outer forming angular skewed surfaces arranged with clearance between them in compliance the angle and angle flange thickness. Shaped surfaces, their thickness and arrangement comply with variation in flange height and thickness and angle of formed angle-piece. Lengthwise slot in die holder cross section has the shape of formed angle-piece cross section.
EFFECT: symmetric load on die holder and equal friction conditions, hence longer life and higher quality.
