FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power supply for contact spot welding and can be used for welding heavy-duty welded structures. Reservoir capacitor Cres of power supply is divided into N separate capacitors Csep- Capacity of each capacitor makes Csep=Cres/N. Capacitors terminals are connected to inputs of appropriate current stabilisers and cathode of dividing diodes connected thereto. Anodes of said dividing diodes are connected to positive terminal of rectifier unit. The other terminals of aforesaid capacitors are connected to negative terminal of rectifier unit and thyristor cathode. Thyristor anode is connected to outputs of current stabilisers. Voltage transducer input is connected to output terminals and its output is connected to thyristor control electrode, control unit input and rectifier unit control input.
EFFECT: higher quality of welded joints due to ruling out arc burns.
