CONTACT WELDING METHOD AND POWER SOURCE FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2236333 C1

FIELD: contact welding of metals, possibly joining of precision parts with small thickness and small cross section area at supplying welding circuit with unipolar amplitude-modulated electric current pulses.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of amplitude modulation of electric current pulses due to changing number of unipolar electric current pulses with stable normalized value; normalizing value of each unipolar current pulse according to condition ist≤0.04·iwl.max where iwl.max -maximum demand electric current value at welding. It provides change of resulting electric current at turning on and off next current pulse no more than by 4 %. Inlet of rectifying unit of power source is connected with outlet of transformer. Accumulation capacitor is connected with positive and negative poles of rectifying unit. Inlet of regulation device is connected with positive pole of rectifying unit; outlet of regulation device is connected with one of terminals for connecting load. Other terminal for connecting load is connected with negative pole of rectifying unit. Regulation device of power source includes N connected in parallel electric current stabilizers providing fixed current value ist≤0.04·iwl.max, where iwl.max maximum demand electric current value at welding. Control inlet of each current stabilizer is connected with respective outlet of unit for controlling individual communication line. Resulting current value in welding circuit at time moment of forming connection is determined by number of turned-on unipolar current pulses and it remains stable in spite of changed parameters of load.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of welding, elimination of complex automatic control circuit.
