FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for production of zinc oxide out of zinc containing solution consists in precipitation of zinc containing sediment with ammonium hydroxide, in treatment with solution of carbonate or bi-carbonate of ammonium, in drying and in tempering. Precipitation is carried out of low concentrated zinc containing solutions. Extracted zinc containing sediment is tempered at 125-150°C. Tempered sediment is subject to treatment with solution of carbonate or bi-carbonate of ammonium. Further it is dried and again tempered at 300-750°C.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption at filtration, drying and tempering; reduced consumption of reagents and improved characteristics of process.
