FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to foundry production. Method involves application of anti-penetration wash onto the surface of consumable pattern. Before application of anti-penetration wash, the item surface is coated with modifying and reinforcing elements in paste or powder form. The following elements can be used for modification and reinforcement: Al, Ti, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Ni, Co. Modifier is used in powder form with particle size of 3 nm to 10 mcm.
EFFECT: reduced carbon content in surface layer of cast.
