SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of foundry and can be used for the manufacture of castings from steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and their alloys using the technology of casting according to gasified models. In the process of making models, the mold is filled in layers of pre-foamed polystyrene foam granules with a layer, the minimum thickness of which corresponds to the size of the granules, modifiers or alloying additives are added to the top of each layer with a layer whose thickness corresponds to the fraction of additive particles, after which the final foaming of the granules in the molds is carried out to form a model.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain models from expanded polystyrene in molds with the required uniform or gradient content and distribution of modifiers and alloying additives.
