FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contact butt welding of strips at specialised butt-welding machines installed in high-efficiency pipe welding and profiling plants etc. Built-in shears have top and bottom slides. Centering device has two lugs accommodating rollers arranged to rotate in contact with strip and to move towards the strip axis line. Movable bed is furnished with bed position transducer connected with command controller. Clamping feeding rollers are mounted at the device feed and discharge sides and provided with strip displacement counters connected with aforesaid controller.
EFFECT: optimised process procedures in setting welding conditions, accurate alignment of strip ends and expanded range of welded strips.
