FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for contact arc welding of strips at specialised arc welding machines installed in high-efficiency pipe welding and profiling plants etc. Proposed device comprises welding torch with independent drive. Bed accommodates strip loop-forming devices, fixed and moving clamps and two plate-type pneumatic clamps. Built-in shears have two lower flat and two disk shears mounted on moving carriage. One lower flat blade of said shears is coupled with welding plate. Each of the two external centering devices and one internal centering device are furnished with two lugs arranged to be moved by strip drive towards axis line. Internal centering device is arranged in cantilever on one end of the axle fixed on the bed to be located horizontally between lower flat shears and to be moved to vertical position by a drive. The latter is jointed to the other end of said axle via lever. Spring-loaded lugs of centering devices are furnished with limits switches.

EFFECT: optimised process techniques, smaller tolerances for centering width deviation.
