FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural biotechnology, to energy- and economically low-cost methods for cryobiological preservation of plant seeds in viable and genetically intact condition for many decades (centuries). Method is implemented by applying natural cold of ever-frozen rocks of cryolite zone with stably low temperature of minus 6÷8°C.
EFFECT: storing seeds at such temperature in tight container makes it possible to preserve their vitality and functional activity of genetic apparatus of cells for a long period of time in depth of ever-frozen rocks in mode of maximum protection against local or global, natural or anthropogenic disasters.
