FIELD: oil and gas production.
SUBSTANCE: method for processing sludge after chemical treatment of thermoelectric power station waste water involves addition of a water-soluble high-molecular polymer to the sludge with subsequent mixing and air drying. The polymer used is represented by a powdery salt of carboxymethylcellulose in an amount of 3-15 wt % of the total sludge weight. After addition of the polymer the resultant mixture is formed. The method for processing sludge generated as waste product of thermoelectric power stations enables transformation of a moisture-saturated paste-like sludge into a solid compacted material which can be easily handled and transported with subsequent utilisation.
EFFECT: vacation of sludge tanks for further operation.
