FIELD: glasswork.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for the production of glass based on lead oxide, to furnaces for melting mineral compositions, in particular to the production of sheets and blocks containing lead oxide with X-ray protective properties. The furnace unit for the production of X-ray protective glass based on lead oxide includes the melting of mechanically activated raw materials in a bath furnace with the supply of the melt to the feeder zone with pouring into molds. Zones of primary melting and final melting are separated by a gate along the entire section. The gate is made of high-temperature ceramics or metal. The ratio of areas of primary, final melting and the feeder is as follows: 1/1/0.1-0.2. The height of the threshold in front of the feeder zone is from 50 to 100 mm. Quick-detachable molds have autonomous heating.
EFFECT: invention reduces energy consumption for the preparation of glass melts.
