FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed optical glass comprises the following components in wt %: P2O5 55-65, BaO 8-12, K2O 10-15, SiO21-4, Al2O3 5-10, B2O3 2-6, Nd2O3 0.1-4.5.This glass features high magnitudes of forced transition section (not lower that σ=3.5·10-20 cm2) and luminescence damping time. Note here that is features also lower absorption factor in radiation wavelength not exceeding a1053=0.00094 cm-1. Said glass is produced in two steps. At first step, frit is boiled in shaft electric furnace in 4 litre-quartz vessel. Melt being mixed by quartz mixer. At second step, produced frit is re-boiled in induction unit in 5-litre-platinum crucible, melt being mixed by platinum two-vane mixer for glass melt being discharged into unit via bottom branch pipe.
EFFECT: better physical and optical properties of optical glass.
