INSTALLATION FOR AFTERBURNING ANODE GASES OF ALUMINIUM ELECTROLYTIC CELL Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C25C3/22

Abstract RU 2392355 C1

FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: installation for afterburning anode gases of electrolytic cell consists of horizontal branch with system of gas suction and of burner. The burner consists of an upper cylinder part and a lower part. From the top at 1/3 of surface it has a conic shape at angle 20-30°, in the middle at Ѕ the burner is made with cylinder surface and below at 1/6 it is made with conic surface at angle 55-65°. Eight through tangential apertures for air supply at angle 40-50° to horizontal are made in the lower part of the cylinder surface of the burner. Also the lower part of the burner rests on surface of a cup made as a hollow truncated cone of 55-65° angle. The cup is mounted on the boss of a gas collecting bell. Further the installation consists of a heat-exchanger enveloping the burner with a gap. The heat exchanger corresponds to a screen and a jacket with directing plates. The plates are rigidly fixed to a lower end of the jacket at angle of 130-140° to its external surface covered with a layer of heat insulation. Through openings, by one in each, are made in the screen and the jacket. These openings are coaxial to one of tangential openings in the burner. An ignition plug for igniting gas-air mixture is installed in one of eight openings for air supply. The plug passes through openings in the screen and jacket, is fixed by means of a nut and is rigidly secured on external surface of the case. By means of a high-voltage cable the plug is connected with a high-voltage source. Eight plugs for air oxygen ozonisation are installed in eight through openings in the case and secured with coaxially tightened nuts; these plugs are also connected to the source of high voltage by means of the high-voltage cable. A temperature sensor is installed in the opening of the boss with a screw. The boss is rigidly fixed on the horizontal branch. By means of a measuring cable the temperature sensor is in series connected with a heat regulator and the high-voltage source. By means of flanges the system of gas suction is in series connected to the horizontal branch, with the burner, with the cup and with the boss of the gas collecting bell.

EFFECT: increased stability and efficiency of afterburning and removal of anode gases, 2-3 times reduced dust exhaust into system of gas suction and 5-10 times reduced concentration of cancerogenic resin substances and benzopyrene.
