SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data transmission networks. The modulation scheme and the code rate for each stream are determined from data transfer rate selected for that stream. Modulation schemata and code rates for all M streams are used to determine the analysis cycle and the number of exclusion cycles for each stream in the analysis cycle. The sequence of exclusion cycles is formed for M streams provided that the exclusion cycle(s) for each stream are distributed on the sequence as uniformly as possible. A coding device codes traffic data in accordance with a basic code (e.g. a binary convolution code with rate of 1/2) and forms code bits. The analyser then breaks up code bits into M streams based on the exclusion cycle sequence, one exclusion cycle at a time and in the order given by the sequence.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
