FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a combinatorial method of identifying a catalyst composition for use in heterogeneous addition polymerisation. A method is described for identifying a catalyst composition for use in heterogeneous addition polymerisation of an olefin monomer using Ziegler-Natta catalysts involving A) creation of a first library containing several pre-selected solid catalyst precursors which are a complex compound containing a group II metal derivative; B) creation of a second library through successive conversion of representatives of the said first library to solid procatalyst compositions via a disproportionate reaction as an intermediate step, subsequently bringing the solid procatalyst compositions into contact with a cocatalyst and optionally with an external electron donor to form a catalyst composition; C) successive selection of catalyst compositions based on representatives of the second library and bringing the said representatives into contact with an olefin monomer in olefin addition polymerisation conditions in a polymerisation reactor to obtain the final polymer product; D) determination of at least one variable parametre of interest of the method or product during polymerisation; and E) selection of the analysed catalyst composition by referencing to the said parametre of the method or product.
EFFECT: preparation of a catalyst composition which undergoes screening on activity in polymerisation of olefins, especially when determining parametres of the method under polymerisation conditions.
