FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: active sonar system (ASS) comprises irradiating 1 and receiving 2 acoustic antennas, device 5 to generate sounding signal, device 4 to generate radiation directional characteristics, generating device 3, device 6 generating directional characteristics of sonar system in reception and device 7 to process echo signals from target, device 10 to generate directional characteristics of noise fixing (NF) system, device 11 to process NF system signals, NF system device 12 to measure bearing to target and unit 13 to determine magnitude of bearing variation (BVM), device 8 to measure range to target, device 9 to measure target speed radial component (SRC), unit 15 communicating ASS with ship systems, unit 14 to determine common speed tangential component and unit 16 to determine target speed tangential component. It comprises also unit 17 to determine target speed and unit 18 to determine target course.

EFFECT: possibility to determine target speed and course in one radiation-reception cycle with acceptable accuracy.
